CAMP DIRECTOR

Hello! My name is Bret Weiss and this will be my first summer at Camp Reece! I'm from Brewster, NY and studied Business Administration at SUNY Oswego. I went to camp myself since the age of 5 and have worked with children in a camp setting for over 10 years. Some of my favorite camp activities are high ropes, archery, and white-water rafting. During the school year, I work at the Reece School as Positive Behavior Support. When I'm not at camp, I enjoy being adventurous, traveling, sports and music!

CLINICAL DIRECTOR

Hi!  My name is Kiersten Twitchell, and this is my 8th summer as one of the Directors at Camp Reece.   I have worked with children and teens for nearly 20 years, and during much of that time, I spent my summers in a camp setting.  I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and worked in New York City for 10 years after receiving my Master's from NYU.  I spent three years working as a Counselor at the Reece School, which is how I got connected to Camp Reece.  When not at camp, I live in Nashville, Tennessee, working in my own practice as a therapist.   I am excited about many things this summer - getting to know all of the amazing campers and staff, being outside all day, and going on adventures like white water rafting and high ropes!  See you this summer!

Hi there - My name is Charlotte Lester. I am originally from Westchester NY and now living in NYC. I’ve been involved with Camp Reece since its start in 2017. I’ve loved watching it grow and develop into the amazing program it is today! Some of my favorite camp activities are tubing, ceramics, and six flags. When I’m not at Camp, I teach photography at the Reece School and coach alpine ski racing at Gore Mtn.

Hi everyone! I'm Emma and I'm excited to be your Camp Nurse this summer! I am originally from Florida and now live in Los Angeles, California, where I work as a school nurse during the year. I spend my free time spending as much time outdoors as possible with activities like hiking, backpacking, scuba diving, and trail running.

This is my second year at Camp Reece and I cannot wait for an unforgettable summer with you all!

AQUATICS DIRECTOR

Hey, camp crew! Brent here, gearing up for my second go-round at Camp Reece. Having spent a decade teaching swimming, you can count on me to keep the swimming program just right. I'm all about weaving outdoor adventures into the mix, adding that extra splash of excitement. Whether we're fine-tuning our strokes or diving into various camp activities, I'm here to ensure we have a summer that's both enjoyable and packed with learning. So, gear up for some good laughs, a bit of exploration, and plenty of aquatic excitement!

Hello, I am Melissa! This year I will be returning as Program Coordinator, helping to maintain tradition, implement camp-wide events and special activities like Color War! Throughout the year I work within the Reece School in NYC.

I am very excited to get back to all things camp! I am most excited about being outdoors and going on the fun trips we have planned. I am looking forward to seeing all returning campers and meeting those who are joining Reece for the first time.

Hey! My name is Chloe and I am from the north east of England studying a sports physiotherapy degree at Loughborough University. This will be my third year camp and I'm super excited for this summer. Hello, I’m Jemma and this will be my second year at camp working as a sports specialist. I am from England, last year was my first time in America, it was the best summer ever, so excited to return again this year. I love to play soccer and going out on the boat at camp!!!

my name is Ella and I’m from Brisbane, Australia! I’m super excited to be coming back to Camp Reece for a second time this year. I love the outdoors, especially swimming and boat tubing and am always up for a challenge. I had the summer of a lifetime last year and created so many life long memories, so I am so excited for what summer 2025 has in store!!

I am Lea, 25 years old turning 26 in camp and I am from Germany. In Germany I live in a small city called Nordhorn which is very close to the dutch border. I am very excited to experience a lot of fun activities and meet new people in Camp Reece. I am also looking forward spending my time outdoors an being creative with the kids.

Hi my name is Charlie and I’m from the west coast of Scotland. I had a great first time at camp last summer meeting my co counsellors and campers.

Fun facts about me I’ve been doing Judo for over 15 years, I’m a big sports fan and I went on my first ever rollercoaster last year during our camp trip to six flags. I am also a black belt in judo aswell.

Hi everyone! My name is Evren, and I’m excited to be back for my second summer at Camp Reece! Last year was an absolute blast, I cherished every moment with our amazing campers, creating unforgettable memories together.

A little about me: I’m half Romanian, half Turkish, and currently studying Computer Engineering. When I’m not busy with tech, you’ll probably find me talking about (or hanging out with) cats my favorite animals! Did you know cats can rotate their ears 180 degrees? Sadly, I can’t do that… but I can’t wait to turn back to Camp Reece for Summer ‘25!

Hi everyone! My name is Sara Bernardi, and this will be my 2nd summer at Camp Reece! I am from Poughkeepsie NY, and I am a student at SUNY Cortland majoring in psychology with a minor in biology. Last year was such an exciting and memorable experience at camp, filled with loads of new friends and adventures! Some of my favorite memories from camp include boat tubing, color wars (team purple 4ever!), white water rafting, and of course getting to brave riding the Adirondack Outlaw at Six Flags!

Hi! My name is Grace, I am from Perth, Australia. I am so excited to be a camp counsellor this year at Camp Reece! I have a passion for sport, and have played netball and AFL (Australian Football League) for most of my life. I love working with kids, and have lots of experience through coaching, umpiring and babysitting.

I am so excited to use this opportunity to meet new people, gain new experiences and share Australian culture throughout this journey!

My name is Nicholas Davison, and I’m from Tauranga, New Zealand. I serve as a youth leader at my church, coach rugby, and most importantly, I work as a mentor at my local high school. This role means a great deal to me. At the high school, I spend most of my time working closely with students, especially those with diverse learning abilities. Supporting these students is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do. I help them not only with their schoolwork but also with building confidence, setting goals, and believing in themselves. Outside of school, I coach rugby, which gives me another chance to connect with youth and teach important life lessons like teamwork, leadership, and perseverance. Whether I’m on the field, in the classroom, or at church, my focus is always the same: to lift others up and help them move forward with purpose and confidence.

Hiya! My name is Ella and I am from England. I’m so excited to join Camp Reece this summer, as it’s something I’ve never done before and have always been interested in doing. I can’t wait to learn all about my fellow camp mates, as well as meeting this summers awesome campers! I currently work as a children’s swimming teacher, and love how rewarding my job is, so I’m super excited about meeting this summer’s campers and having loads of fun!

A fun fact about me is that I am half English and half Scottish, and spent a lot of my childhood exploring the Scottish highlands in our family camper van. I can’t wait to meet everyone and have the best summer ever!!!

Hey I'm Sean! I'll be cooking for your children this summer. Super excited to meet the campers and make sure their dietary needs are met! Originally from the Bronx. Moved to the Dutchess County area when I started my family. Within my community I've coached my daughter in softball for 10 years. I'm an avid runner, completing the NYC marathon in 2015.

Hi! My name is Kassegbeke Fasuluku, a Computer Science major from Sierra Leone. I’m thrilled to have been hired as a kitchen staff member for Camp Reece!

Back home, I used to attend scout camp every summer during primary school, but it’s been quite a while since I’ve experienced that kind of environment. I’m really looking forward to being back in that atmosphere, meeting new people, and creating unforgettable memories.

Hey ! My name is Dexter Hinds and I’m an A level student in the UK trying to pursue a career in the financial industry. However, I volunteered for my local kids summer camp last year and the experience was so good that i had to go international!

I’ve been working in a Michelin star restaurant, Crockers Tring, for almost 2 years now and I’m trying to bring my kitchen experience into camp to feed and educate campers.
